I was fortunate enough to attend a talk by Mr Sati Achath, He is currently working as a project evaluation specialist for the World Bank, Washington DC.
This session was too good and it was for the first time a speaker along with his management class talked about his passion and showcased his skills. He is a multi-talented man recognised by the World Bank. Currently, he stays at Thrissur.
The first question which he asked the audience was “How many of you have hobbies?”. I could see few hands up on the air. After that, he asked, “How many of them practice their hobby every day”? None of them raised their hands.
When he asked the reason, some of them told they are busy in their life and that’s the catch. He said hobbies are for people who are busy in their life. Hobbies are stress busters. It increases our self-esteem. Those who practice their hobbies have less chance of dementia and Alzheimer’s. He also advised practising our favourite hobby at least 30 minutes a day and in 5 years if we do that prayerfully, we will be an expert in that.
He also told about the importance of joining the 5 o clock club, which means to get up at 5 AM every day. 5 AM is an apt time for the body and mind to start fresh
